A major concern for all the sadhaks while performing sadhana is lack of peace of mind and constant impatience.
In the past I have shared rules which have to be followed while performing mantra japa.
In that post, I had shared a few rules which if followed, would prevent the sadhak from experiencing impatience during chanting.
There are a lot of factors which can cause a sadhak to experience impatience during japa.
I am trying to mention all the factors that can cause the same and will share the solution for it as well.
1. Sthaan Dosh - One of the major reason for mansik ashanti during sadhana is absence of purity and cleanliness of the place where you are doing the sadhana. Also, the place where you do the sadhana can also cause impatience during the sadhana.
Doing sadhana in unclean places, lack of purity in the room, etc. and all these things can affect the mind of the sadhak and bring great amount of impatience in the mind.
2. Vastu Dosh - If there is vastu dosh in the room, then no matter which sadhana you do, it won't show effects.
The remedy for both of these problems is that you can either perform a vastu dosh shanti havan or change the location where you perform the sadhana. The sadhak must also refer to kurma chakra to know the exact location of where to start a sadhana.
3. Brahmacharya - One of the most important factors that affect peace of mind is lack of brahmacharya. When the sadhak starts doing mantra japa, a man's sperm start changing into Ojas and enter sahasra chakra. This is the place where the continuous deposit of Khas brings divinity in the sadhak.
Most importantly, when a sadhak breaks brahmacharya by looking at women with lustful eyes and does masturbations or any thing of such sort, he is insulting Goddess Shakti.
Remember sadhaks, that we all are ansh of Shiva and made up of both shiva and shakti.
Shiva is the sahasra chakra which all the other body is Shakti. When a person sees women with lustful eyes or does masturbation or any of that sort, he is insulting Shakti.
And one of the main shakti in our bodies are iccha shakti, gyan shakti and kriya shakti all of which are controlled by the tridevi.
Thus, if the sadhak breaks brahmacharya, all of these 3 kinds of shaktis will run away from him.
And any person who has breaken brahmacharya will experience weakening of his iccha shakti, kriya shakti and gyaan shakti.
Iccha shakti means the sadhak's will power and courage.
Kriya shakti means the sadhak's focus on doing hard work and his passion.
Gyaan shakti means his ability to understand things and sharpness of the mind.
Breaking brahmacharya will also cause weakening of all the above mentioned abilities in the sadhak along with the reduction in lifespan, weakening of immune system and other health effects it causes.
The best remedy for maintaining celibacy is to recite Hanuman Chalisa 11 times daily atleast for 6 months and going to siddh Hanuman temple regularly.
By siddh, it means a temple where the idol of Lord Hanuman is pran pratishthit, so that the sadhak can absorb the positive energy from the idol.
One must also attend aarti regularly and do pradakshina of Lord Hanuman.
By doing so, the sadhak gets freedom from all the above mentioned problems, graha peeda and he gains strength, courage, will power, intelligence, fame, health, celibacy and fearlessness.
4. Weak iccha shakti - As mentioned by me above, a person having weak iccha shakti also is unable to gain focus on the mantra jap.
The best remedy for this also is reciting Hanuman Chalisa 11 times daily for atleast 6 months.
Another remedy for this would be to practise dhyaan mudra and meditate on सोहं mantra 15 minutes daily.
5. Sadhaks, one of the major causes of lack of impatience is also due to the habit of sadhaks to do multiple tasks at once or keep on thinking about all the things they have to do after completion of their daily sadhana.
Sadhaks, the only kind of sadhak who gain success in sadhanas are those have a simple and easy going mind.
If you are constantly worrying about what you have to do next, you will never be able to achieve peace during the sadhana.
Also, another very big cause of this problem is that some sadhak have the habit of constantly worrying about how much more chanting is remaining and when it will get completed, instead of actually focusing on enjoying each and every recitation they do with pleasure.
Such a behavior takes away all the peace of mind and also takes away all the chances that you may for getting success in the mantra sadhana.
This usually happens with sadhaks who are trying to perform multiple different sadhanas at once.
Remember sadhaks one must only do 1 mantra sadhana at a time and one must not worship any other god during that time.
Doing so makes the mind chanchal and god whose sadhana you are doing also get displeased and go away.
The best remedy for this is that first, the sadhak must think 10 times before starting any sadhana.
Then, when he decides which sadhana to do, he must complete it with complete focus and determination.
Also, when the sadhak has a doubt on how much time he can give daily, he must always give only 30-40% of his time for mantra japa.
For example, if the sadhak completes all his work by 6 in the evening and is free by then from 6 to 8 pm, he must only do sadhana for 1 hour- 1 hour 15 minutes.
This is because one of the main mistakes sadhaks do when starting some mantra sadhana is that they think how much mantra japa they can try to finish every day and achieve the target sankhya of the mantra.
This is not how a mantra works and this is how it never ever will.
Also, they do not take into account that just because they have been able to sit for a sadhana 1 day for 3 hours, doesn't mean they will be able to do it every day for 11,25,40, 100 days.
Keep in mind readers that just thinking of doing millions and trillions of recitation is not going to give fruit.
The japa which is done with a pleasant mood without worrying about the amount of time that has passed, lack of fear, diseases, doing dhyaan on the specified form of god, showing his mudras and following satvik acharan - all of these bring success and blessings of the god.
And not doing 50,000 japa every day without any devotion, faith or pleasure and only caring about finishing the japa.
And, in order to stop worrying about the amount of time that has passed, it is necessary for the sadhak to have a large time frame and do japa for only 30-40% out of this time so that he knows that even if some day japa is going to be late, he will still have time to complete the sadhana and then do his other tasks.
6. Also, the sadhak must do sadhana with courage. Especially if the sadhana has to be performed in a secluded or fearful place like graveyard.
He must do sadhanas with veer bhav.
7. Other than this, one must also do nyaas and dig bandhan and agni sthaapan.
Without these, it is very difficult to have peace of mind during mantra japa. Especially if the sadhana is going to be long one.
I have already mentioned in the past regarding nyaas and dig bandhan.
For agni sthaapan, one must point his right hand's index finger towards the sky a little higher than the head and rotate it in clockwise direction 3 times while chanting the mantra रं । and imagine a very very blazing and powerful fire around the sadhak, which is burning away all the negative energies that may be around him.
This also helps to bring peace of mind during the japa.
Other than this, a very powerful remedy followed by yogis is that, after completed your achaman, pranayam, the sadhak must meditate on ।। हरि: ॐ ।। mantra for 5-15 minutes. When you meditate on it, the Om has to be recited in dirgh swar.
I.e. Harihi Ooommmmmmmmmm
The 'mm' in Om must be stretched as much as the sadhak can.
This will help the sadhak greatly.
