How to take sankalp and Sankalp Mantra

Taking Sankalp is an extremely necessary and an irreplaceable part of doing any sadhana or prayog. Without taking a sankalp, nothing can be achieved. Even if you are chanting a stotra or a mantra with nishkama bhav, then too one has to take a sankalp.
I am now today sharing how to take a sankalp and what the mantras are going to be.
Using this, all those who do not know how to take sankalp can now do the same very easily.


Procedure -
1. First the sadhak must do the basics of any mantra prayog/sadhana i.e. achaman, pranayam,deh shuddhi, sthaan shuddhi, guru pujan, ganesh pujan, shiv parvati puja, lakshmi narayan puja, surya puja and finally puja of the isht devta i.e. the god whose prayog you are going to do.

2. The, one must take jau,rice,til, a yellow flower in his hand and say the sankalp mantra I am sharing here -


 ॐ विष्णवे नमः  ॐ विष्णवे नमः  ॐ विष्णवे नमः | श्रिमद्भवगतो महापुरुषस्य विष्णो राज्ञया प्रवर्तमानस्य अद्यः श्री ब्रह्मणो अह्नि द्वितियेपरार्द्धे तत्रादौ श्री श्वेत वाराह कल्पे सप्तमें वैवस्वतमन्वतरे अष्टाविंशति तमे कलियुगे कलि प्रथम चरणे भारतवर्षे भरत खण्डे जम्बूद्वीपे आर्यावर्तान्तर्गते

१. अमुक क्षेत्रे विक्रमशके  बौद्ध अवतारे
२. अमुक ऋतौ
३. अमुक मासे
४. अमुक पक्षे
५ . अमुक तिथौ
६. अमुक वासरे
७ . अमुक करणे
८ . अमुक राशि स्थिते सूर्ये
९ . अमुक राशि स्तिथे देवगुरौ

शेषषु ग्रहेषु यथा यथा राशि स्थान-स्थितेषु सत्सु एवं ग्रहगण विशेषण विशिष्टायां  शुभ पुण्य तिथौ

१०. अमुक गोत्र उत्पन्नो  अहं
११ . अमुक शर्म/वर्म/गुप्ता अहं

As you can see there are amuk at various place. I will now share what to add in each  of the places.

I am sharing here what to add in each of the amuk, serially.

1. In the place of amuk in point 1, you must add your city or town name.

2. In place of amuk in point 2, you must add the vedic season which may be going on.

3. In place of  amuk in point 3, add the present vedic month going on. In this, one must always remember that a month always starts from Krishna paksha and not from shukla paksha. But many states in india consider shukla as the first paksha which is wrong because krishna paksha is of pitrus and pitrus always come before gods. Hence, i believe that the best solution for it to follow the system which is followed in your kuldevta's temple/city.

This difference between shukla paksha makes a lot of difference in the dates. Hence, one must always follow what is followed by his kul devta's temple.

4. For the 4th amuk, one has to mention the paksha going on.

5. For the 5th, one must mention the tithi.

6. For 6th, one must mention the day 

7. For 7th, the karana.

8. For the 8th amuk, one must mention the rashi(moon sign) in which Lord Surya is currently transiting through.

9.Here, one must mention the rashi in which jupiter is transiting through on the day of sadhana.

10. In place of Amuk, you must say your gotra. For those who don't know their gotra must say 'kaashyapa'.

11. in 11th, one mention his first name and then say sharma, varma or gupta as his surname. Sharma surname must be used by brahmin, Kshatriya  must use varma and vaishya must use Gupta. 

A shudra must you the surname which is followed by his guru.

This completes the main part of the sankalp. After saying whatever is mentioned above and as shown by me, one must state his wishes.

I am today also sharing a few sample wishes which one may add depending upon the kind of wish he has.

1. For Wealth, prosperity, fame name, land, house, and other material happiness -

-- मम जन्म जन्मान्तर  सकल दुख दरिद्य उपद्रव भय क्लेश मन्स्तापा निवारणाथे , सकल अनिष्ट  व्याधि जरा पीडा मृत्यु परिहारार्थे , ऐश्वर्याभिवृद्धयर्थम् अप्राप्त लक्ष्मी प्राप्त्यर्थम् , प्राप्त लक्ष्म्याश्चिरकाल सरंक्षणार्थं सकल मनोवाञ्छित् कामना संसिद्धयर्थं लोके सभायां राजद्दारे वा सर्वत्र यशविजय लाभादि प्राप्त्यर्थम् मम् पुत्र पौत्राद्यभिवृध्यर्थं च इह जन्मनि जन्मान्तरे वा सकल दुरितोप शमनार्थे, धनधान्य-पशु-गो-अश्व-वाहन-भूमि-दार-वीर-पुत्रपौत्र-वसु श्रुति स्मृति पुराणोक्त फल प्राप्यर्थं, सर्वत्र सर्वदा  मंगल व्याप्त्यर्थे, (अमुक) मन्त्र/स्तोत्र, (अमुक)  दिवस पर्यन्तं नित्य (अमुक) संख्या जप/पाठ च अहं करिष्ये |

In place of the three amuk, one must mention the mantra/stotra you are going to recite, the number of days you are going to recite and, number of chants that you are going to do daily; orderwise.

2. For getting rid of diseases and becoming fit and healthy and getting strength, radiance and beauty -

मम (अमुक) रोग निवारणार्थे च अन्य सकल ज्ञात अज्ञात दैहिक् वाचिक मानसिक रोग निवारणार्थे, सकल ज्वर ताप अशान्ति निवृत्त्यर्थे , त्रिदोश शान्त्यर्थे , मानस शान्ति प्राप्तयर्थे, बलशौर्य सौन्दर्य, कान्ति  प्राप्तयर्थे, पूर्ण आरोग्यता प्राप्तयर्थे च चिरकाल पर्यन्तं संरक्षणार्थे (अमुक) मन्त्र/स्तोत्र, (अमुक)  दिवस पर्यन्तं नित्य (अमुक) संख्या जप/पाठ च अहं करिष्ये |

In place of the 4 amuk, you must mention the disease you want to get rid off, the mantra/stotra you are going to recite, the number of days you are going to recite and, number of chants that you are going to do daily; orderwise.

3. For getting rid of graha peeda(malefic planetary influences)

मम जन्म कुण्डल्यां, गोचर कुण्डल्यां, अन्य सर्व कुण्डल्यां (अमुक) क्रूरग्रह कृत पीडा निवारणार्थे, तस्य ग्रह कृत सकल घोर उपद्रव संकट रोग दुख दारिद्र्यादि आदि  शमनार्थे, सुख शान्ति दीर्घायु ऐश्वर्य श्री कीर्ति ऋद्धि गो अश्व धन धान्य आदि सकल भोग प्राप्तयर्थे,  मम मनोवाञ्छितम् प्राप्तयर्थे, च चिरकाल पर्यन्तं संरक्षणार्थे (अमुक) मन्त्र/स्तोत्र, (अमुक)  दिवस पर्यन्तं नित्य (अमुक) संख्या जप/पाठ च अहं करिष्ये |

In place of the 4 amuk, you must mention the planet's name whose mantra prayog/sadhana you are doing, the mantra/stotra you are going to recite, the number of days you are going to recite and, number of chants that you are going to do daily; orderwise.

4. to remove enemies and stop them from troubling you 

मम (अमुक) शत्रुं शमनार्थे, तस्य सर्व कृत सकल अनिष्टं निवृत्त्यर्थे, तस्य कृत सकल ज्ञात अज्ञात पीडा कष्ट निवारणार्थे, परमन्त्र परयन्त्र परतन्त्र छेदनार्थे, मम शत्रुं अनेकानेक रूपेण कष्ट, संकट, कुकिर्ति आदि पीडा प्राप्तयर्थे च पूर्ण रुपेन  शत्रुन् परिहारार्थे, मम सर्वत्र सर्वदा विजयार्थे (अमुक) मन्त्र/स्तोत्र, (अमुक)  दिवस पर्यन्तं नित्य (अमुक) संख्या जप/पाठ च अहं करिष्ये |

In place of the 4 amuk, you must mention the enemy you want to remove, the mantra/stotra you are going to recite, the number of days you are going to recite and, number of chants that you are going to do daily; orderwise.

5. For removal of sins -

मम सकल कोटिकोटिसहस्र जन्म जन्मान्तर कृत महापापउपपापश्च निवारणार्थे, सकल कायेन वाचेन मनसेन इन्द्रियेण कृतं पापं निवारणार्थे , जागृत अवस्था कृत पापं निवारणार्थे, स्वप्नास्वस्था कृतं पापं निवारणार्थे, च अन्य सकल ज्ञात अज्ञात पाप निवारणार्थे, सर्व रोगदुखदारिद्र्य शमनार्थे, सर्वदा निषकण्टकेन सुखं भुक्त्वार्थे,मम मनोवाञ्छितम् प्राप्तयर्थे, मम सर्वत्र सर्वदा विजयार्थे, (अमुक) मन्त्र/स्तोत्र, (अमुक)  दिवस पर्यन्तं नित्य (अमुक) संख्या जप/पाठ च अहं करिष्ये |

In place of the 3 amuk, one must mention the mantra/stotra you are going to recite, the number of days you are going to recite and, number of chants that you are going to do daily; orderwise.




These were a few sample sankalp mantras which one can take for fulfilling the respective desire.
I have made sure that for each kind of wish I cover everything that must be there in a particular wish.
I believe that if you use these mantras, you will surely be benefitted from them and get the desired results.

After having said the sankalp mantra and your wishes, the sankalp must be offered to the idol or the yantra of the isht devta. If you do not have idol or the yantra of the isht devta, the sankalp i.e. the rice,flower,jau that you have kept in your hand must be offered to your guru's yantra or photo.
